Compliance Manager (100%) 

​We are looking for a regulatory expert who brings relevant industry experience. We want to see highly diligent candidates with strong interpersonal skills and a pragmatic approach to drive things forward. The person will be based in the HeiQ Iberia office in Moreira da Maia, Portugal and report to the ​Regulatory Lead.
Your responsibilities
  • Maintaining current knowledge of laws and regulations relevant to the production and sale of chemical formulations (eg. chemical regulations, biocide regulations, occupational safety etc.)
  • Keeping abreast of current and impending changes in national and international regulations
  • Ensuring global regulatory compliance for HeiQ chemicals, antimicrobials and materials with an emphasis on USA regulations including EPA (FIFRA) and FDA, as well as EU BPR 
  • Diligently monitoring compliance within the company and actively working to improve compliance processes
  • Planning and coordination of company activities to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and any required filings and submissions 
  • Communicating regulatory status and issues with stakeholders across the company. Regular reporting on progress of implementation, and assisting these components in establishing methods to improve efficiency and quality of services
  • Coordinating the drafting, releasing and maintaining of internal policies and procedures relevant to regulatory compliance
  • Managing compliance with industry accreditation bodies (eg. Oekotex, Bluesign, ISO etc.)
  • Supporting R&D and Procurement with the selection of raw materials, compiling Safety Data Sheets (SDS), creating reports to regulators and interacting with consultants for regulatory filings
You are
  • An expert on regulatory and compliance affairs management for portfolios of multiple products marketed in the USA, Europe and globally
  • Experienced in drafting safety datasheets and other documentation required for regulatory support of chemical products
  • Experienced in working with external Regulatory Affairs Management service providers and project managing testing services providers
  • A pragmatic problem solver who sees opportunities where other people see problems, who is risk intelligent and a positive thinker
  • Self-motivated and dynamic individual willing to build and manage a comprehensive compliance program
You bring
  • A Master’s Degree or higher in chemistry, chemical engineering or toxicology; MBA is a welcome addition
  • Minimum 10 years of industry experience with biocides, and in particular extensive knowledge of the EU’s Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR), the US Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) and FDA
  • Experience with textile industry accreditations such as Bluesign and Oekotex
  • Extensive knowledge of the EU’s REACH regulation and in particular experience with CLP section concerning SDS and labeling
  • Experience with European and International regulatory frameworks for chemical and materials and managing regulatory budget and reporting requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Full English professional proficiency
